  1. This text file is to accompany the IPJNEW.ZIP or .EXE file:

  3. IPJ is a journal and insight-sharing system.  The Interactive Personal 
  4. Journal is a tool for gleaning, applying and sharing insights.
  5.  
  6. IPJ encourages this process by providing text (written by various 
  7. authors on a wide range of subjects), questions, and a place for 
  8. responding, and the ability to link and search the user's notes.
  9.  
  10. If desired, the notes can be easily exported to disk, sent to a 
  11. clearinghouse, and re-distributed for sharing with other IPJ users.
  12.  
  13. The IPJ concept has elements of:
  14.  
  15. * A conversation with a new acquaintance, where one person tells about   
  16.   some event, and this reminds the other of his or her own experience, 
  17.   and the interaction between the two generates an energy for gaining new
  18.   understanding.  Here, the interaction is between you and the author(s),
  19.   with IPJ serving as a prompter and note-taker.

  21. * When insights are shared, the resulting thread is similar in appeal to
  22.   that of a Bulletin Board System (BBS) forum, or a Letter to the Editor
  23.   column, where the comments of others can be quite interesting and
  24.   thought-provoking.

  26. IPJ is both a logical, systematic structure, and a tool and vehicle for 
  27. spontaneous exploration and honest, insightful expression and interaction.

  29. The IPJ concept was designed within the attractive interface and powerful 
  30. features of the authoring system, with the intention of providing for your 
  31. ease of transition from IPJ to HyperPAD.

  33. As of this writing, the IPJNEW zipped or self-extracting file requires
  34. about 534k bytes of hard disk space.
